A Journey into the Transcendental Spirit

Conformity.     Individuality.     Self-Expression.     Authority.     Societal Pressure.

Introduction
"For it matters not how small the beginning may
seem to be: what is once well done is forever."

Throughout our brief study of Transcendentalists, we read the works of two transcendentalist authors: Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson. There are many other important transcendentalist thinkers for us to explore. For your mini-research project, you will be be researching a transcendentalist author (aside from those we have studied) and his/her works, and apply these perspectives to your own life.
